Do you work in digital in Barbados and want to expand your knowledge and network? This is your event.
Following the success of the first and second Barbados SEO Local Meetups on February and June of 2023 we are continuing this series of local meetups at Clifton Hall Great House for anyone working locally in the industry. Planned as a very informal affair, it’s going to be a terrific opportunity to create an SEO community in the region, nurture talent, and give something back to Barbados.
Led by Martin MacDonald, one of the World’s leading experts in SEO, we’ll have some food and drinks while we chat about digital marketing, SEO, and plenty of industry news.
Agenda
- Agenda item 1: Martin will talk about “Things you COULD do with ChatGPT, probably shouldn’t, but definitely could”
Martin has been an OpenAI developer since March 2021, and has a wealth of experience in working with the APIs building bespoke tools for use in Enterprise SEO. In this session he will detail some things that ChatGPT is useful for to turbocharge your productivity, and some things its definitely not good at! - Agenda item 2: Malou Morgan is a strategic communications consultant and community advocate. With a rich background of over 15 years in both professional and volunteer roles within the human services domain, Malou possesses a genuine passion for volunteerism, sustainability, civil society, and philanthropy in Barbados and the wider Caribbean region.
Commencing August 2023, Malou is the Organizer for the Google Developer Groups Bridgetown. Tech for good is our guiding principle, as we channel our skills and expertise to tackle pressing challenges. From building educational platforms that empower the youth of Barbados to developing applications that promote environmental sustainability, our community is driven by a deep-rooted sense of social responsibility. Together, we strive to create a brighter future for our island and the world at large. Read more here: https://gdg.community.dev/gdg-bridgetown/

We do this through volunteer matching, a volunteer newsletter, workshops, social media groups and community engagement. Read more here: https://caribbeancollaborative.org/
Through Caribbean Collaborative, Malou is the Country Ambassador for Giving Tuesday. During the SEO gathering, Malou would like to introduce the Giving Tuesday Data Commons, which is on a mission to increase knowledge about generosity through collaborative work on data.
Access to GivingTuesday’s Data Commons is offered to sector stakeholders through a variety of Working Groups, which are convened around what have been identified as important focus areas for a shared approach to research. These groups meet to impart latest findings and observations, discuss barriers and obstacles, and identify opportunities to advance common goals through joint research and shared data: https://data.givingtuesday.org/working-groups-basic
